Uri box office collection day 8: Vicky Kaushal starrer BEATS week one figures of Varun Dhawan’s Sui Dhaaga

Varun Dhawan may been the box-office favourite for years, but Vicky Kaushal seems to be the new star of Bollywood. His latest film Uri has beaten Varun Dhawan’s Sui Dhaaga at the box-office.

After the mammoth success of Sanju last year, a film that starred Ranbir Kapoor in the lead but it was Vicky Kaushal’s performance which was appreciated the most, the actor is back with another big hit. Though virtually no one could have predicted that Uri: The Surgical Strike would become a big box-office success let along crack the Rs 100 crore club, it seems that the Vicky Kaushal film may actually do that with ease.

The film has already made over Rs 78 crore at the box-office and is inching towards the Rs 100 crore club. According to film trade expert, Taran Adarsh, Uri will easily crack the Rs 100 crore club within its 2nd week at the box-office.

But that wouldn’t be the only achievement for the Vicky Kaushal-starrer. The film has beaten the box-office record of Varun Dhawan’s Sui Dhaaga. The Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma film had made Rs 64.25 crore at the box-office in its first 8 days of release, Uri is already Rs 14 crore ahead of it, in its first 8 days.

Add to that, Sui Dhaaga ended up with a lifetime box-office collection of Rs 79.02 crore, which Uri will ideally overtake in another day, thereby beating Sui Dhaaga will be a piece of cake for the Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam film. Earlier, Taran Adarsh also revealed that Uri had beat the box-office collections of films like Stree, Raazi and other hits of 2018. Well, it’ll be interesting to see how much this patriotic war film can manage to gross at the box-office in its lifetime run.
